Language immersion
Immersion or linguistic "bath" is an effective method of making rapid and significant progress. Indeed, French practice is intensive and daily and the contents are personalized. In addition, the learning situations are varied and authentic, which strenghten long-term memorization and self-confidence. Finally, of course, living in a francophone home allows you to discover the culture, customs and different registers of the French language from within.
Accommodation
You will be housed in a large gardened house. You can choose a room on the ground floor (1 or 2 single beds) or on second floor, according to your preference. All of three bedrooms have a garden view. You will have access to the common living room, the leisure room (TV, music, library), the kitchen and the two bathrooms.
The accommodation is non-smoking.
You will share the house with my husband and my two children, as well as two cats and two hens.
Course of the stay
The program will be defined together based on your desires and interests. Everyday, there will be 3 hours of French classes, at a mutually agreed time. The rest of the day will be devoted to relaxing and leisure activities (visits, walks, shows, board games....) according to the weather and the cultural offer of the moment.
The meals will be taken together at the family table and you will be involved to help us cook good dishes!
If you are tempted by paid activities (skiing, horseback riding, tree climbing, hot air ballooning, parachute jumping....), it is possible provided that the organization is planned well in advance. The cost of these activities will be entirely at your expense.
Prices
The package includes meals, accommodation, French lessons and travel for recreation within a 30 km radius.
1 person: 1000 euros/ week
2 people: 1700 euros/ week
3 people: 2000 euros /week
Modalities: payment of a deposit of 25% at the reservation and the balance one week before the beginning of the stay.
Payment: by bank transfer or CB (on the website only).
The village
Vertolaye is a small town of 500 inhabitants, accessible by bus from Vichy or Clermont-Ferrand and located 10 minutes from the city of Ambert. There are some local shops: bakery, grocery store, chocolate shop, as well as a weekly market. In all seasons, entertainment is regularly offered by local associations and the cultural centerLa Gare de l'Utopie.10 minutes walk from the house, the river and the forest await you. Surroundings
Located in the Livradois-Forez Natural Park, the region offers sumptuous landscapes and outdoor activities in all seasons. The valley of the Dore, surrounded by forest massifs is a paradise for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers in general. The region is also home to many craftsmen who perpetuate ancestral know-how, from bakers to vaniers, cheese makers and paper mills.
